About Lionsgate Event Center
The Lionsgate Event Center was started about 30 years ago when owners Tom & Marie purchased the iconic Dove House, one of the on-site locations where you can host your ceremony. This is a conveniently-located event and wedding venue just outside of Boulder, Colorado, and it’s known for its elegant venue spaces, exceptional service, and amazing catering. If you’re looking for an elegant wedding venue with a bit of charm, this is the place to be.
Multiple Wedding Venues In One
Lionsgate Event Center features three exquisite spaces that can host your wedding. These include The Dove House, The Chandelier Barn, and The Gatehouse.
The Dove House is a mansion from the 1920’s that is surrounded by lush, vibrant gardens, and you can choose to have an indoor OR outdoor ceremony here. Explore the three acres that surround the Dove House for some beautiful photo opportunities. Fully equipped with getting ready space for both sides of the wedding. My favorite feature of this area at Lionsgate Event Center is the telephone booth situated outside. Doctor Who, anyone?
The Chandelier Barn is quite the site to behold. Quite young, as it was opened in 2017, this spot has quickly become very popular. Once you walk into the space, you’ll instantly witness why. You can choose to either have your ceremony here or simply visit to take some stunning couples photos. This barn is home to 32 hand-crystalled chandeliers, making it one of the most unique venues in Colorado.
Right outside the chandelier barn you’ll find some retro decor to really set the stage and atmosphere if the historic site. Note that there is only one getting ready area in the barn. Add a bit of elegance to your special day by incorporating this gorgeous venue.
The Gatehouse rounds out this trio of stunning venues with a beautiful ballroom aesthetic. This venue was opened up in 1996 as Tom and Marie expanded the property. Again, here you can choose to host your ceremony inside or outside. I highly recommend utilizing the beautiful white pillars outside for an elegant backdrop during your ceremony.
Similar to the other two venues available at Lionsgate Event Center, the Gatehouse is surrounded by more greenery than you’ll know what to do with. Make sure you choose a photographer who will really be able to showcase the greens in all their beauty.
Nearby Hotels/Attractions
Lionsgate Event Center is located just 20 minutes away from Boulder, Colorado, and only 30 minutes away from Denver, situating it in close proximity to many attractions and iconic hotels. Because it’s located in Lafayette, Colorado and not in one of the bigger cities, you won’t be subject to heavy bouts of traffic or loud noises that can sometimes be a drawback to certain venue locations.
Photo Opportunities At Lionsgate Event Center
There is no shortage of great spots for wedding photos at Lionsgate Event Center. Of course, the chandelier barn might be the best spot, so be sure to get a photo of two even if you’re not using it for your ceremony.
The white pillared gazebo behind the Gate House is also one of the more elegant areas of Lionsgate Event Center, so be sure to grab some wedding photos back there!
Not many venues are home to a vintage phone booth, so I have to put this at the top of the list for photo ops. Remember, the red phone booth is located near the Dove House!
Last, but not least, there is plenty of space in the lot in case you want to host a giant, mouth-watering In-N-Out food truck for your guests to enjoy.
